General Announcements:

  • Happy Spring Break!

  • Clerk position is live on handshake! If you refer a friend, make sure to email FTEs with their information for consideration.

  • Please ensure to follow proper key handling procedures when issuing courtesy keys! Double check to ensure that the key ring is returned to the proper hook, and that cabinet doors are closed and secured when not in use. When issuing or receiving a courtesy key, don’t forget to update the desk log, key inventory spreadsheet, and mercury check-out records.

  • Take your time in the process of PO Box distribution! Double check to ensure that letter mail is going in the right slot, and that packages are being scanned in for the correct resident.

Theatre District:

  • Reservations can be made for the 3 study rooms in the Survivance building via Res-Life. There is also a QR code at the 8th HI front desk.

  • Keep up the good work at utilizing 'HUFF' at the front 8th HI desk.

    • At the HI desk, you never know who’s going to walk in, so it’s important to always stay alert. Remember HUFF—Heads Up, Face Forward. When you're focused on emails, spreadsheets, or Teams, take a moment to pause and greet whoever enters, whether it’s a student, client, or supervisor. You never know who might walk in next!

Balance

Balancing structure and spontaneity in life is about finding harmony between planning and letting things unfold naturally. Structure provides stability—it helps us set goals, establish routines, and create a sense of direction. But too much structure can make life feel rigid and predictable, stripping away joy and creativity. Spontaneity, on the other hand, invites adventure, discovery, and the freedom to embrace the unexpected. The key is to have a foundation that keeps you grounded while remaining open to life's surprises. When you strike this balance, you can move forward with intention while still allowing space for the magic of the unknown.
